About Kevin Mounce

Kevin is entering his fifth season at the helm of the Urbana women's soccer program in 2018, which marks his 24th year overall in the sport with previous stints at Gardner-Webb University and Cumberland College.

Coach Mounce joined Urbana in January of 2014 as the fifth head coach in the school's history. Mounce is the active leader in wins with a program-best 125 victories at Gardner-Webb in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. His Runnin' Bulldogs advanced to the conference tournament in 13 of his 15 seasons. Mounce's squads earned back-to-back Big South Conference runner-up finishes in 2009 and 2010, and he was named the 2003 Atlantic Sun Conference Coach of the Year. His 2001 team won an NCCAA national title, earning Mounce NCCAA National Coach of the Year honors.

Off the field, Mounce's teams enjoyed even more success. Following the 2004, 2005, 2012 and 2013 seasons, Mounce's Bulldogs earned the NSCAA Team Ethics Award. Mounce also coached the only NCAA D-I Academic All-American in GWU history (A-Sun Player of the Year Leanna Woodworth).

Before his 15 seasons at Gardner-Webb, Mounce was the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky. In his four-year stop at Cumberland, Mounce won a pair of conference championships, including an undefeated season in 1998, and he was twice named Mid South Conference Coach of the Year.
